PHP XML RSS Parsing

General March 1st, 2003

After reading about RSS feeds and generating one for my site, I was interested in what tools are available to parse RSS feeds inside websites and post the contents as HTML. I found a few example sites on the web, and now have an RSS-to-HTML engine. This’ll show up in my site soon as a trackback, or a way to provide comments.

We won at Ann Arbor (she’s a whore.) The rest of the season is going to be very, very interesting.

Pearl Jam comes to Assembly Hall

General March 1st, 2003

Pearl Jam is coming to the Assembly Hall on April 23rd, and through the magic of the Internet I just bought four tickets. Ticketmaster’s website is flaky — I’m sure I would have gotten better tickets if it wouldn’t have lost me 2/3rds of the way through the process the first time and forced me to re-load/start over. I kept getting “Bad proxy response received from upstream server” You’d think as many events as they have that always go on sale at 10am on a Saturday, they’d have a robust-enough web application infrastructure to handle it. They should, for the $6 per ticket they charge as a handling fee.

C19, row 18… but at least I’m going. This is my “treat” to myself for not getting into the DMB spring tour. So, who’s interested in my three extra tickets?
