Productivity soldier
General January 4th, 2006
According to a short list of productivity system user profiles over at Million Monkeys Typing, I’m a Soldier. Sometimes that forces me to be a Tinker, but I have very little Tailor or Spy mentalities. (That is, until I find something that works, and then I try to make it nicer - hence, the evolution of the inbox, tickler, etc.) I detest myself when I tink for tinking sake.
I don’t think any of my 12.7 readers are productivity system junkies like me, but if you are, do you agree with Doug’s list, and where do you fall?
About
Tinker/Soldier…
I like to do things my way, and know the why/way things work, but I have no problem reading about it a billion times before/during/after any new things I’m trying.
And don’t think I didn’t notice you ganking my use of decimalist loyal readership. I’m on to you, MuscleMan.
Definately soldier. But I think Chuck is a borderline soldier/spy.
Hey, I’m a soldier. I go around, find things that work, and steal them. That’s what I do.
I’m only a little bit of a soldier. Much more of a tinkerer. With the amount of stuff I’ve disassembled and tried to put back together (successfully and unsuccessfully), I have to be a tinkerer. I think I also contain some of the spy mentality.
Fine. I’ll be the Tailor.
