I hadn’t heard the addage “In like a lion, out like a lamb” describing March weather (and astronomy!) until just recently. It applies. Just a few weeks after what the local news outlets are calling (announcer voice) BLIZZARD TWO THOUSAND SEVEN, with not all of the snow melted, most of eastern and southern Illinois is under a tornado watch. I believe it — it feels like a spring storm is coming. It’s unusually warm today, with a stillness in the air. Apparently I’m not the only one: I saw a stormspotter driving around south of Windsor on the way in this morning.
