New CIO and summer band schedule

Quick updates.
UIUC announced Sally Jackson as the campus’s new Chief Information Officer. It’s good that she’s an alumna (and a pretty neat role for a Speech Comm major,) so I hope to see good things come from her. The CIO office is relatively new at UIUC and the previous occupant really didn’t make an impact on department level IT (he was more big picture, how does UIUC fit into everything everyone else thinks they should be doing, etc.) It looks like she’ll be more hands on, and I like that.
I also signed up for summer band again this year. The concerts are Thursday, June 21 and Wednesday July 18th. Mark your calendars.

7:00pm (concert starts after the seventh Altgeld bell rings) Concerts are on the south patio of the Quad, unless it’s raining, and then it’s the main room of the band building.
