Serenissimo

General August 31st, 2007

I went to the GSLIS gaming club meeting[1] last night and played a new (to me) board game called Serenissimo. It was pretty fun - complicated, and it took me the whole game for me to figure out a strategy, but I liked it. The game went about 3 hours but would have been faster if half of us weren’t learning it. I didn’t win but I made a good effort even though later I counted at least seven strategic mistakes on my part that probably would have won me the game. Oh well. Next time.

[1] Ironically, 4 of the 10 attendees were named David. When the other game (Ticket to Ride) finished, Davids made up 60% of the remaining 5 players. Names weren’t really important because we identifying each other by the countries we were representing. I was Venetian.
