He won what now?
General October 12th, 2009
I’ve been enjoying Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize quite a bit this last week. (I can’t wait for this week’s Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me. SNL already played their tame bit with it.) From today:
[15:54] trombonekenny: Did you hear? Obama got MLB MVP for throwing out the first pitch
[15:55] IlliniBone: did he get the cy young, too?
[15:55] trombonekenny: and a golden glove. weird.
[15:55] IlliniBone: pitchers don’t get golden gloves
[15:56] IlliniBone: now you’re just making stuff up
[15:56] trombonekenny: well, he might at sometime in the future move to the outfield
[15:56] IlliniBone: they’re creating a new wing for him in the pro football hof, too
[15:57] trombonekenny: hell, they’re renaming canton to obama, oh
[15:58] IlliniBone: obama? oh.
About
“He won what now?” is honest-to-goodness what I said when I heard the news. And when the nice NPR people moved on to update us on our attack on the moon, I got kinda dizzy. Friday might have been the best news day ever.
I know. Your comment was, well, title inspiring.
I thought Greg Maddux had like 12 Gold Gloves. I think they still give them to pitchers for superior defense, or am I totally wrong, wait I’m on the Internet, why am I asking?
The Internet is full of lies and deceit. I love the Internet.
Personally I think the decision was taken in hurry without proper consideration of other contestants achievements. Hopefully, Mr. Obama himself too was not expecting this great award. Indeed it is a great achievement for him.
